For the shoe project I created a boot. This boot was difficult to create than just any other shoe. I had to think through how i was going to create this piece. When creating this piece i had to take a second and look at the big picture, I had to reflect. For the amount of clay I had for creating this boot planning to make sure every thing fit and was the right scale to the boot, it was a challenge. I had to start over once because i looked at it and realized that I wouldn’t have enough clay to create the top section of the shoe. I didn’t just have to create a regular boot, I had to make sure it was the same foot as the actual boot (left or right foot). The boot that I was mimicking was a little worn out and was not standing up by its self, so I had to create creases in the clay to create the real look the boot had. If I were to create this peice again, I would make the boot a little more floppier to create a more realistic look. When creating this piece I also had to solve problems that occurred. For instance when I was creating this the clay became very dry and was cracking as I was shaping the top part of the boot. I fixed this by finishing my boot and then going over and smoothing out the cracks till there were none.
